RCS-RSLR Heat Shrink Reinforced Repair Sleeve (Wraparound Repair Sleeve)

Product Overview

RCS-RSLR Heat Shrink Reinforced Repair Sleeves are wraparound heat-shrinkable repair systems designed for fast and reliable restoration of damaged cable jackets and insulation layers. The sleeves are manufactured from reinforced composite materials with integrated fiberglass structure, providing superior mechanical strength and durability compared with conventional heat-shrink repair sleeves.

The inner surface is coated with a thick hot-melt adhesive layer that ensures strong adhesion to various cable sheath materials such as polyethylene or metal jackets. After heating, the sleeve shrinks tightly around the cable while the adhesive flows to form a moisture-proof and environmentally sealed repair.

Because of the wraparound structure and metal locking channel, the sleeve can be installed without cutting or disconnecting the cable, making it ideal for field repairs on aerial, buried, or ducted cables.

Description

Key Features

  • Reinforced composite structure with integrated fiberglass for exceptional mechanical strength
  • Wraparound sleeve design allows installation without cable disconnection
  • Thick hot-melt adhesive layer for reliable sealing and moisture protection
  • High shrink ratio (4:1 to 5:1) enabling compatibility with multiple cable diameters
  • Strong resistance to UV exposure and harsh environmental conditions
  • Excellent resistance to abrasion, shear stress, and mechanical damage
  • Metal rail and locking channel ensure secure closure during heat shrinking
  • Heat-sensitive indicators are available by request for proper installation monitoring
  • Adhesive retains flexibility even at low temperatures
  • Quick and easy field installation

Applications

  • Repair of damaged cable jackets and insulation layers
  • Protection of aerial power cables
  • Repair of buried or ducted communication cables
  • Restoration of polyethylene or metal cable sheaths
  • Moisture sealing of cable contact connections
  • Leak protection for pressurized and non-pressurized cables
  • Maintenance and repair of telecom and power cable systems

Product Structure

The sleeve consists of a reinforced heat-shrinkable outer layer combined with a hot-melt adhesive inner layer. Fiberglass reinforcement significantly improves bursting strength and resistance to mechanical stress. A metal locking rail allows the sleeve to be wrapped around the cable before heat shrinking.

Installation Method

  1. Place the wraparound sleeve around the damaged cable section.
  2. Insert the metal locking rail and secure the sleeve edges.
  3. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using an appropriate heat source.
  4. Allow the sleeve to shrink fully while adhesive flows to seal the cable.
  5. Ensure tight sealing at both ends of the sleeve.
